On April 2, 1882, 58 year old linenweaver and farmer, Peter Leuck, packed up his wife Katarina and their 7 children and left the small village of Borg, located in the Southwestern corner of Germany.  They received help from relatives already in the United States, where they hoped to find a better life. (Peter's brother Johannes came to Wisconsin in 1862.)
